How long have you been practicing yoga? How long have you been teaching?

Practicing 21 years, teaching 17 years

What brought you to your first yoga class/experience? And what kept you going back?

I was invited to my first yoga class by a coworker. I kept coming back because the practice was challenging and I felt so good after.

What inspired you to become a yoga teacher?

I was asked to sub yoga classes several times and when I finally agreed to sub a class, I enjoyed it. I also wanted to share all the benefits I received from my practice with others.

Describe how yoga has helped you live better, and how you think your teaching can help others live better.

Yoga helped me to become in tune with my body. After practicing a while, I started eating better and my overall health improved. I became more content and focused. When I teach, I hope students start to feel more embodied, listening to their body for when to do more or less. Those lessons on the mat translate to our everyday lives.

Tell us a little more about yourself. Do you work outside of teaching yoga? What do you enjoy about your job?

I work at a CPA firm in Louisville.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Besides yoga, I love to be outside. Hiking and watching my son play baseball are at the top of my list. And when I’m inside I love to cook and eat good food.

Fun or interesting facts about you?

My husband and I met when working together at a radio station.

I’m running for Clarksville Town Council.
