Āyurvedic Wellness Spotlight - January 2022

As we start to bring January to a close (how is that possible already?) and head into February we slowly start shifting toward what āyurveda calls kapha season (more on that next month). While it’s not time to go fully into kapha pacifying mode, late January is a good time to start taking lighter and more pungent meals to counter the heavy and cold qualities that will come with kapha.

One of my favorite things to eat during kapha season is soup. I can load it up with vegetables for the lightening quality kapha needs, and spice it up to help breakup some of the sticky and stagnant qualities of kapha.

This kapha pacifying lentil soup is one of my favorites as we transition from vata season to kapha season.
